![]() Right off the bat, the game sets up its absurdist tone with the very concept of the game alone: the King of All Cosmos somehow manages to destroy every star in the universe in a fit of drunken incompetence, and then sets his adorable coin-sized son on a quest to restore them by rolling up pencils, bugs, milk cartons and other random objects until eventually, you're rolling around a volcano-sized mishmash of buildings and giant squids and entire islands to rebuild the Moon. ![]() Japanese games (that aren't your usual anime JRPG or action game) are often known for their quirky, offbeat and energetic aesthetic, but none that I've have even come close to how aggressively Katamari pushes those attributes in your face. There are so many things I want to gush about, because it's such a tight, well-rounded, almost perfect package, but I will focus on the aspect that I suspect is what pushes Katamari from being just a really fun game with an incredibly novel gameplay concept, into the sort of title you show to a jaded and depressed gamer worn out by years of repetition in the industry to prove that this medium is still worth loving: it's charm. It is considered one of the most beloved IPs in gaming history. So seeing that it had been re-released for PC via Reroll was a very pleasant surprise, and I quickly downloaded it and booted it up, excited to see what was so legendary about the game, and why I've been aware of Katamari and it's iconic status in pop culture for a long time, and it's always been a game I've wanted to try, but previously I was unable to due to it being stranded on consoles I didn't own. Two days ago, I was browsing the XBOX Game Pass library for something new to play, when I came across Katamari Damacy Reroll. If you're having the same exact issues as me, turn off the vibration settings within the game. I'm down to try anything to get this fixed since I really want to be able to play this game on PC.ĮDIT: I fixed it. If I can get any help, I would truly appreciate it. ![]() I've tried reinstalling the game, I followed this tutorial as much as I could (minus the controller stuff since it's out of date) It'll make some beeping noises then completely freeze about 10 seconds later. If I'm in windowed mode, if I click off of the screen and try to close the game, my PC starts to heavily lag. This is while I'm in Borderless Windowed/ Fullscreen windowed mode. While in this state, if I PAUSE and then try to either Alt+Tab or click to my other monitor, my whole PC freezes. I'll get in a level where I roll up items (so no issues on the tutorial and home planet) and my controller will disconnect when I pick up something and reconnect when I pick up something else. I started playing it with no issues, and then today I started having some problems that really affected both gameplay and my hardware.
